While one of the nice things about modern browsers is the wide availability of extensions/plug-ins to customize the browsing experience, we've recently run across an issue where they can interfere with designing Forms in Process Director. Specifically, we've discovered an issue with the LanguageTool spell/grammar-checking extension from https://languagetool.org.
When used with Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Brave, Edge), this tool interferes with the ability to add controls to an existing Section on a form in the Online Form Designer. The Section apparently loses focus when the form is saved and this extension is active. When that happens, all the controls in that section--and in sections below it--are marked for deletion, even though they still exist on the Form. Once this happens, the form becomes unrecoverable, except by rolling back to a previous version (if one exists) from the Versions tab of the Form definition.
BP Logix recommends that you turn off this specific browser extension if you design any Forms in the Online Form Designer, since this extension can be disabled on a site-by-site basis. Indeed, you should probably, as a best practice, turn off any unnecessary browser extensions when designing Forms, since browser extensions alter the normal operation of the browser in ways that may be unpredictable.
