The bpEmailImport utility currently uses a Username and Password (Basic Authentication) to connect to your email server using either POP3 or IMAP (depending on your mail server).
Microsoft recently announced that they will start to turn off Basic Authentication in their worldwide multi-tenant service on October 1, 2022.
See Basic Authentication Deprecation in Exchange Online – May 2022 Update for more information.
The bpEmailImport utility will therefore be revised to use modern authentication options instead of Basic Authentication. The update is expected to be released before end of September (Jira ticket ENG-11491).
Do not disable Basic Authentication in your email server at this time, if for some reason it becomes disabled it will need to be re-enabled for bpEmailImport to work.
