Microsoft recommends that applications use OAuth to authenticate their operations on SharePoint instances. OAuth provides security beyond simple username and password authentication, so using OAuth with SharePoint will add an additional layer of security to your cloud communications.
In Process Director v5.44.1000 and higher, Modern Authentication for SharePoint is implemented using the SharePoint Oauth Datasource. At the same time, the legacy SharePoint Datasource, which uses the simple username/password authentication scheme, is still available for customers who are using older versions of SharePoint. This legacy authentication method should be relevant to only a very small minority of customers.
To take advantage of this feature, create an Application within Azure that will provide a Tenant ID and Client ID for connections to SharePoint. In Process Director, the new "SharePoint OAuth" Data Source will use these Tenant ID and Client ID values, so create and then use this new SharePoint Data Source wherever Process Director can use a SharePoint Data Source.

This update to the SharePoint Datasources will require updating the SharePoint Custom Tasks!
Please review the guide for Configuring Sharepoint Data Sources to set up Modern Authentication between SharePoint and Process Director..
